Founder and CEO
Mike founded his first private investment management company in 2002, later renamed the Caprock Group, after 10 years in Seattle at Ragen Mackenzie. At Ragen Mackenzie, Mike was elected the youngest member of the Board of Directors in the firm’s history and made Managing Partner of the Seattle office. After a successful IPO, Ragen MacKenzie was sold to Wells Fargo and Mike set out on his own to start what later became Caprock, and eventually McMillen & Company.
Mike has either founded or served at the senior executive level in several multi-billion dollar investment companies advising clients on every type of complex financial matter. A staunch believer in objectivity, transparency, superior research and availability, Mike and his associates have earned the role of trusted advisors to clients ranging from major hospital systems, public utilities, and insurance companies, to not for profits and successful families.
Beyond the office you will find him the father of two teenaged girls and their inexhaustible needs, which generally means the Mall and driving, driving, driving. Mike also does crazy things like climbing Mt. Everest and running marathons, but the truth is it’s usually just to get out of driving the girls around.
